Subsea Magnets
Engineered for ROV deployment, long-term installation, and zero-corrosion service life on the seabed.
Subsea magnets from Blumags are built for the harshest underwater environments — deep water, salt, current, biofouling, and years of continuous load. Holding forces range from 100 kg | 220 lbs (Flipper) to 3,200 kg | 7,000 lbs (Moby), with the same patented stainless-encapsulated neodymium core across the line.
The core sits inside a Ni-Cu-Ni-plated, epoxy-sealed, stainless-steel housing — a four-layer corrosion barrier engineered to keep full force after years on the seabed. There are no internal moving parts, no anodes to swap, and no annual servicing.
Every subsea magnet ships with multifunctional rigging points so operators can fit their own ROV-class tooling: clearance holes on the Willy and Moby, threaded M6/M8 holes on the Flipper. The Moby is also designed for curved structures down to 600 mm diameter, anchoring with full holding force on monopiles and offshore jackets.
In active service with DeepOcean, Subsea 7, Oceaneering and TechnipFMC for ROV tooling, mooring line monitoring, sensor anchoring, and permanent subsea installations on FPSOs and fixed structures.
