Mooring Magnets
Magnetic mooring points and tie-off anchors for vessels, buoys, and instruments.
A magnetic mooring point is faster to deploy than a mechanical anchor, doesn't damage the seabed, and can be relocated in seconds. Blumags mooring magnets are used to moor smaller vessels to ships with high freeboard, anchor monitoring buoys, and create temporary tie-off points anywhere a ferrous surface is in reach.
The Willy series is the standard for marine mooring. Choose Willy 500 (500 kg | 1,100 lbs) for smaller workboats, RIBs and calm conditions; step up to Willy 800 (800 kg | 1,750 lbs) for larger vessels, exposed water, or where wind and current load matters.
Real holding force depends on hull condition — rust, paint, uneven surfaces and air gaps all reduce grip. Always scrape heavy marine growth before applying the magnet, and design with a 3× safety factor for moving water.
